Studies on the Hypoglycemic Effect of Medicago Denticulata WILLD in Korea

Abstract
|
|
|
The infusion of Medicago denticulata WILLD in Korea gives a marked hypoglycemic effect by the oral administration to rabbits.
This effect would be caused by manganese which contained relatively large concentration in Medicago denticulata WILLD in Korea.
Manganese (as manganes chloride) was administered orally in doses of 0. 5mg/kg bd. wt. to rabbits, and the effect on the blood glucose-level was a consistent fall often to severely hypoglycemic level.
Both the infusion of Medicago denticulata WILLD in Korea and manganese (as manganese chloride) when given orally were showed the marked hypoglycemic effect by the modified glucose tolerance test.
